Top 5 Christmas Markets in Dresden

  1. Striezelmarkt began already in 1434! Most famous! Known worldwide, nice with story- garden, big pyramide, and glasmanufactory. But buying gifts is too expensive and sometimes the hot traditional Glühwine is adulterated with water!Altmarkt in the old town, walkable within 30 min or take the bike.buy a traditional „Pflaumentoffel“ (plum man)

2. romantic Christmas market Anno 1900 plays in the time between 1800 to 1920, original handycrafts with real blacksmith, pressmen, goldsmith, chocolatier,…

→ directly in front of the church of our lady, walkable see above

3. traditional Christmas market romantic, traditional handycrafts, big pyramide where you can climb on for a good view! BUT very touristy!!!

buy the yummie „Pulsnitzer Pfefferkuchen“, the only real stuff!

at the church of our Lady, Münzgasse in the old town, walkable within 30 min or take the bike.

 

4. tausend Funkel Markt/ 1000 twinkle market very story like market, very special, highly recommended, many adventures with live musicians, artistic, climbing, story- teller, scissor-type handycrafts and     production, you can also make your own gifts and much more

normal day ticket 12 €, students and kids 9,50 €, family tickets available also

Tue to Fri from 2 pm to 10 pm, Sat and Sun 10 am to 10 pm

take tram 13 to Hygiene Museum at Großer Garten Park

 

5.      middle age Market in the oldest stables in the world inside the castle yard in the old town (entrance at Schloßstrasse) with fortune teller, reading the cards, oriental tea tent, sinker casting, blacksmith, little alternative, not very touristy
