{"id":1089,"date":"2010-03-11T15:59:38","date_gmt":"2010-03-11T14:59:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/?p=1089"},"modified":"2010-03-11T15:59:38","modified_gmt":"2010-03-11T14:59:38","slug":"the-neustadt-scyscraper","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/2010\/03\/11\/the-neustadt-scyscraper\/","title":{"rendered":"the Neustadt scyscraper"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the landmarks at the square Albertplatz close to the Neustadt train station is this 11 stories high scyscraper:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/Dresden_DVB-Hochhaus_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1090\" title=\"Hochaus am Albertplatz Dresden\" src=\"https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/Dresden_DVB-Hochhaus_2-264x300.jpg\" alt=\"scyscraper at the Albertplatz square\" width=\"264\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dresden_DVB-Hochhaus_2-264x300.jpg 264w, https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dresden_DVB-Hochhaus_2-903x1024.jpg 903w, https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Dresden_DVB-Hochhaus_2.jpg 1448w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 264px) 100vw, 264px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It was build in 1929 and at this time it was one of the first scysrapers at all in Dresden.\u00a0 At this time there was a very controversal debate about the building.\u00a0 It was a sign of a new modern time right within an Wilhelminian style living area.\u00a0 So conservative people were indignant. With its hight of 37m it caused a lot of protest from the Dresden people.<\/p>\n<p>For building they used a new concrete and they were able to finish one story per week, which was a masterstroke.<br \/>\n1945 the scyscraper resist the bombing of Dresden.\u00a0 The building was so robust it even survived an airplane crashing into it!<\/p>\n<p>After the war it became home of the Municipal Transport Services of Dresden (DVB).
