{"id":1115,"date":"2010-03-17T01:04:25","date_gmt":"2010-03-17T00:04:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/?p=1115"},"modified":"2010-03-17T01:04:25","modified_gmt":"2010-03-17T00:04:25","slug":"buses-to-and-from-dresden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lollishome.de\/blog\/2010\/03\/17\/buses-to-and-from-dresden\/","title":{"rendered":"buses to and from Dresden"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not a long time ago the only possibility to get to Dresden was, by  the means of public transport,\u00a0 to go by train.\u00a0 In many other countries  in Europe you can go around  much cheaper by buses.\u00a0 The reason that  there are hardly bus connections between big cities in Germany is a law,  that, if there is already a train connection, its not allowed to have  another public transportation.\u00a0 This rule was made to protect the train  from competition.<\/p>\n<p>So what happens is, because there is no  competition, train prices are so high that ride sharing became very  popular and is a common way of cheap travelling in Germany.\u00a0 But the  rules are about to change, at least thats what the new federal  government promised.<br \/>\nFor some reasons in the last years more and more  bus connections came up.\u00a0 One reason is that some of the bus companies  are owned by Deutsche Bahn, the German railway company, so they wouldn&#8217;t  sue against themselves.<\/p>\n<p>So today you can travel to Dresden by bus  from almost all directions, but its sometimes not very frequent or they  go at uncomfortable times.\u00a0 Here is a list of bus connections to and  from Dresden:<\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nDresden-Berlin<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>6 x daily, 18 \u20ac one way, 1 \u20ac per piece of luggage<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.berlinlinienbus.de\/pdfs\/dd.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">timetable for Berlin &lt;&gt;
