Summer!Summer!Summer!
I was hiking in Saxonian Switzerland last weekend. Beautiful! This pic shows a small crystal clear lake near Krippen. We were „boofen“. Boofen is a verb in saxon dialect and means that we slept in caves or under ledges. The stone formations are unique in the world. A huge ocean ate many holes in the sand stone, which is typical for that area many millions of years ago.
Sometimes you can even make a small fire (remember all fire protection provisions!!!). So best is: take your backpack, a water cooker and your sleepingbag and just walk for one or two days into the green!
So, if you are coming to Dresden, plan to stay one or two days more to see this beautiful National Park, only 40 km away from here (30 minutes with the train). This is the best time now!
You can get free maps here in our hostel. But sometimes it is even better to get lost!
