Zum 17. Mal finden die Filmtage für francophile bei uns in Dresden im Programmkino Ost statt mit Spielfilmen, Kurzfilmen oder Dokumentarfilmen in französischer Sprache mit deutschen Untertiteln. Dabei werden ältere Filme gezeigt, ebenso wie Premieren. Vom Kinderfilm bis zu Kurzfilmen ist alles dabei.

Für alle Marion Cotillard Fans („Die Frau im Mond“, „Inception“) wird es ein spezielles Portrait geben, zum Beispiel in: „Zwei Tage, eine Nacht“ oder „Macbeth“ (sehr empfehlenswert, mein absoluter Geheimtip: grandiose Bilder, eine düstere Homage an einen Klassiker).

Das Bild ist schon etwas älter (CSD 2015). Ausgesucht habe ich es, weil unsere USE-IT Karte im Hintergrund zu sehen ist. Das hat mich gleich angesprochen ;)

Der Christopher Street Day findet in Dresden gleich für ein komplettes Wochenende ein zu Hause am Altmarkt. Es soll nicht nur gefeiert werden, sondern auch aufgeklärt, gebildet, kennen gelernt und verbunden werden, was noch nicht zusammen gefunden hat.

Am 26. Mai startet der CSD um 16:00 am Altmarkt mit Infoständen (Vereine, Initiativen, politisches) und einem Bühnenprogramm. Fürs leibliche Wohlbefinden wird ebenso gesorgt sein.

Die offizielle Demonstration (Start: Altmarkt, Beginn 12:00) und die offizielle CSD- Party „Gaylaktika“ (14 € Eintritt im Kraftwerk Mitte) finden am 27. Mai statt. Das Festival geht natürlich weiter zwischen 16:00 bis 24:00.

Zum Abschluss wird am 28. Mai von 10:00 bis 15:00 gebruncht, dazu könnt ihr euch euren eigenen Picknickkorb mitbringen oder ihr versorgt euch vor Ort an einen der vielen Stände. Um euch zu unterhalten, wird es gleichzeitig ein Bühnenprogramm geben.

Neu dieses Jahr ist, dass es eine Woche vor und nach dem Festival jeweils verschiedenste Aktionen und Veranstaltungen von Vereinen und Initiativen geben wird. Näheres gibt es bald auf der CSD- Homepage.

Gesucht werden übrigens noch Ordner und Helfer, wer also dabei sein möchte meldet sich am besten hier.

Im Sektor kommen nächstes Wochenende über 30 Autodidakten, Street- Artisten, Fotographen und andere Künstler zusammen um die Kunsttage zu begehen. Zusammen sollen Musik, Theater, Performance, Fotografie, Installation und Bildhauerei zu einem audiovisuellen Gesamterlebnis verschmelzen.

You could translate Hechtfest with pike festival – but no, it’s not about eating pikes and who’s gonna catch the biggest fish from the Elbe. Hechtfest is simply a festival of a district in Dresden called Hechtviertel, which is only a 10-minute-walk away from our hostel, along the Hechtstraße, Rudolf- Leonard Straße and St Pauli Church,…. So instead of eating good smoked fish it is about music, arts, drinking beer, meeting people and having fun. Some people claim the Hechtfest to be the new BRN-festival (we have posted about it earlier this year) only a little smaller.

Anyways, the festival is taking place from August 23rd to August 25th in the Hechtviertel area. So come visit, get some funky souvenir at the little fleamarkets organised by families living in this area, join some concerts, see some art, take part in a football match, or visit the dog race. And the best ting about it: it’s all for free!

The 12th „Jazztage Dresden“

from the 2nd to the 11th of November 2012 will take place at the Festspielhaus Hellerau (tram Nr. 8, direction Hellerau), but also at the airport in Dresden, the VW glassy Manufactory, at the Music University, Jazzclub Tonne and much more places all over the city with artists like James Morrison, Jasmin Tabatabei or Richard Galliano.

The tickets cost quite a bit and range from 14 € up to 45 €. But for real Jazz fans this festival is a must!

Summer is coming! And what would be a summer without our favourite BRN Festival? The biggest meet- the- neighbourhood- event of the year!

The unique proposition of it is that there’s not one event management that is responsable for the whole festival but each inhabitant, pub, club and organisation. So you’ll find many different things with its own character. There’s no corporated design but lots of lovely selfmade actions. There will be a huge variety of  free concerts, partys, food, theatre and animation events on programme, all weekend long!

By the way BRN means in German Bunte Republik Neustadt and in English Colourful Republic of (Dresden-) Neustadt.

As every year we will also have a small stage in front of Lollis Homestay Hostel with a good choice of local and non- local bands. Do not mind the loud music, but come down to dance with us all night long :-)

The BRN takes place from the 15th to the 17th of June 2012.
